While doing research for the doctorate degree in Polymer Chemistry in IICT, Hyderabad, he Started to learn Hindustani classical music (vocal) from late Shri Jagannath Goud ji. Received ‘SANGEET VISHARAD’ Diploma from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay Mandal in the year 1972 in first Division. There after gave several vocal recitals in Hyderabad and Dewas(M.P.).Enacted in several plays, the most important once being as Indrajeet in Badal Sarkar’s Famous play ‘Ebang Indrajeet’in Ravindra Natya Griha,Indore(M.P.).With the passion towards art and music , he founded the Performing and Fine arts hub called Kala Kuteer.
Smt.Rupa Bhattacharya
Learned Kathak from childhood and is an award winning performer. A qualified graded artist of Doordarshan who gave many performances. She headed the music department of Birla Boys school , Nainital . She learnt Kathak from Shri Nath ji , Shri Bhagwathi Prasad Mishraji, Shri Lahiri ji. She learnt sitar from Ustad Chote Khan Sahib of Indore gharana, Shri Girish Sharma ji and Shri Atul Roy ji. Also, she have learnt vocal from Dr.P.C.Chatterjee, Ustaad Ghulam Ghouze Khan of Bareley.
Abhinav Bhattacharya
He started with tabla at the age of 7 later on moved to drums. He was part of his college band at NUJS Kolkata as a drummer. Currently, he is teaching drums at Kala Kuteer.
